Verification, escrow and disputes
Three mechanisms and no fine print: we check who the provider is, we hold the money until the job is done, and we keep holding it while a dispute is open.
Verification
- 1Identity: an identity document checked against the name on the payout account.
- 2Business: the company or trade number matched against the public register of the provider’s country (ARES, RPO).
- 3Licence: for regulated professions, the licence number matched against the professional register (CLK, SLK for healthcare).
- 4Payouts: a bank account able to receive payouts, verified by the payment provider.
- 5Track record: after the first jobs, published statistics — arrived on time, kept the price, response time. No star ratings and no paid placement.
Escrow, step by step
- 1You accept an offer. The agreed amount is authorised on your card and reserved.
- 2The provider does the work and marks it done, adding proof where the job requires it — photos, GPS or a signature.
- 3You have 48 hours to confirm or object. Confirm and the money goes out immediately.
- 4If you do nothing for 48 hours the job is auto-confirmed and the provider is paid, minus 8 %.
Disputes
- 1Open a dispute inside the 48 hour window — on the web, on WhatsApp or through the API. The payout stops immediately.
- 2Both sides add evidence: photos, messages, the agreed price and the agreed time window. Everything exchanged through Fordeal is already on file.
- 3We decide within five working days. If the job was not delivered, or not as agreed, you get the money back in full or in part.
- 4Providers who lose disputes repeatedly are suspended. That is the point of holding the money.
What we do not do
Fordeal is not an insurer and is not a party to the work itself — the contract is between you and the provider. Escrow covers money that went through Fordeal, not anything paid on the side. Job insurance is planned but not live.
