Buying in Germany and Austria step by step
From Czechia you buy in a German or Austrian e-shop with the same basic rights as at home. This guide goes through what to check before ordering, what to watch with the plug and how to handle a claim.

Before ordering
A price in an EU shop includes VAT and is final; no customs duty or extra tax is due. Since 2021 larger shops charge the VAT of the delivery country on parcels to another EU country, so the basket price can change after you enter a Czech address.
Check that the shop ships to Czechia; not every German e-shop delivers across the border. Paying by card is safest: if nothing arrives you can ask your bank for a chargeback.
The plug
Germany and Austria use the type F socket (Schuko), Czechia type E with a pin. Most current appliances carry a hybrid E/F plug that fits both.
An appliance with a pure F plug does not go into a Czech socket without an adapter. Small chargers with a flat type C plug fit everywhere.
Warranty, returns and claims
The legal warranty is 24 months across the EU. Goods bought at a distance can be returned within 14 days of delivery without a reason; you pay the return shipping unless the shop says otherwise.
A claim runs with the seller, usually in German or English, and the goods go back to its country. When you cannot agree with the shop, the European Consumer Centre helps for free.
