How to choose an AI subscription in 2026
Six services, each with a free version or a cheap entry and dearer tiers above. This guide says what you get for free, when a paid plan pays off and who needs Pro or Max. The prices in the text are today's, converted to your currency.

What the free versions do
Claude Free (CZK 0 a month) today includes chat on web, desktop and mobile, web search, file creation and memory across conversations. Grok Free (CZK 0 a month) offers real-time web and X search and a voice mode.
Providers do not state the free limits in numbers. Whoever uses AI a few times a week for a question or a translation gets by without paying; a paid plan mostly solves the limit running out in the middle of work.
The paid entry
ChatGPT Go (CZK 174 a month) is the cheapest paid ChatGPT and contains ads. ChatGPT Plus (CZK 436 a month) adds the GPT-6.1 Sol model, the Work agent and Codex, without ads. Claude Pro (CZK 440 a month) adds Claude Code, projects and more Claude models. Gemini Google AI Pro (CZK 550 a month) gives 4x the free limits, Deep Research and 5 TB of storage.
Perplexity Pro (CZK 371 a month) is a search engine with models from several makers (GPT-6.1 Sol, Gemini 3.8 Flash, Claude Sonnet 5.5). Grok SuperGrok (CZK 654 a month) adds image and video generation. Copilot Pro is not on Microsoft's Czech page today; Copilot comes with Microsoft 365 Personal (CZK 269 a month) together with Word, Excel and 1 TB of OneDrive.
Who needs Pro and Max
Claude Max 5x (CZK 2,202 a month) and Claude Max 20x (CZK 4,359 a month) give 5x and 20x the Pro usage per session; the session limit resets every 5 hours, plus a weekly cap. ChatGPT Pro (Standard usage) (CZK 2,180 a month) is the lowest of OpenAI's three Pro tiers, Gemini Google AI Ultra (5x) (CZK 3,000 a month) is Google's counterpart.
It makes sense when you work with AI several hours a day, typically coding or long documents, and the Pro limit runs out regularly. Whoever never exhausts Pro pays extra for Max with no gain.
