How to tell a real discount: a measured drop versus a shop's 'sale'

A shop's '40 % off' is against a price the shop chose itself. This guide says how we measure drops and why the home shows only measured ones.

Updated 2 October 2026 · prices in the text are today's

What we measure

Twice a day we capture the price of every offer. Deals of the day are offers whose price fell since yesterday at rated shops; we state the amount and the percentage.

A shop's struck-through 'original price' is never shown; we cannot verify it.

The price chart

The product page carries a chart of the last twelve months (growing since October 2026). The lowest and highest points are labelled; today's price can be judged against them.

A drop that returns within a week is usual noise; a drop below the long-term minimum is a real discount.

Advice

Buy when today's price is below the 30-day minimum and the shop carries a rating. Otherwise wait; a price watch without registration is coming.

The deals section appears only with at least four measured drops; an empty section beats an invented one.

Fordeal earns a commission when you buy through a link; it never changes the order of offers. Every price carries its capture time on the product page.
